We offer horse riding lessons for students in a private format for greater in depth knowledge, practice and learning new skills. These lessons are approximately one hour in length. Lessons for English horse riding in eventing, dressage, jumpers and pleasure which also include fitness and horsemanship knowledge and practice.

Our younger riders may start off in lead line lessons. These horse riding lessons are shorter in duration and less physical in nature. Grooming, catching/releasing horses, tacking and untacking skills are learned in regular group or private lessons. Lead line riders are offered about 20-25 minutes of instruction on safely learning the basics of riding and leading. Once they are ready to advance off the lead line they move into the one hour lesson offers.

We do offer limited lesson times off of the farm when possible. There must be a minimum of 2 (3 if over 45mins from our location) riders/horse combinations for us to travel to your farm. Please contact Jenn for more information. All other horse riding lessons are on site here in Carlisle PA.

Horsemanship & Riding Lessons
Riding + Horsemanship go together for the well being and love of the horses! These packages are designed to advance students in both horsemanship skills, equine care, farm care and knowledge as well as riding.
These classes are offered as a package with options of days and times for each package to meet the needs of our clients busy lives away from the farm as well.
Packages begin at $200 for 4 weeks including 2 full or 4 lead line mounted and 2 unmounted sessions. Other package options are available to provide more regular riding and horsemanship improvements. Options for 4 to 8 mounted sessions, all packages include 2 unmounted sessions per 4 week period.

Lesson policies:
Cancellations- IF you are cancelling your horse riding lessons within 24 hours of your lesson time there is a $30.00 cancellation fee.
Cancellations due to bad weather: Rider and instructor do their best to find another suitable day and time for a lesson.
Attire: boots and breeches are required for students. Helmets are required for anyone mounted on a horse or pony at all times. Safety vest are recommended for any jumping or speed work.
The horses come first! If they need a day off or some rest please understand that may affect your lesson times. We will do our best to get you back in the saddle ASAP.
Jumping in lessons maybe limited on ANY horse depending on their weekly line up and show dates. Please understand this is for the horse's safety and well being. Client owned and ridden horses may have more jumping opportunities during lessons or shows due to not being shared with multiple riders.

Great for students who are looking for more saddle time yet not ready for a horse of their own just yet. Prices vary depending on the horse and amount of extra rides a student is looking for. Please talk to your instructor for more details.

Training
Training happens everyday. It is up to riders, handlers, grooms, feeders and each person who comes in contact with a horse to set the horse up for success. Horses in our program get the attention of experienced equine professionals while here at VS in Carlisle PA! Training comes in many forms from on the ground to in the saddle, at home to away from home, on and off the trailer and everything in between. Give us a call to discuss your individual needs.
